Bro. Jim Criswell was born in Dyersburg, TN. He gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of eight and was called into the ministry at the age of twenty. Jim graduated from Belmont High School in Belmont, NC, attended Gardner-Webb College, Union University, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a B.A. in Business, a B.A. in Music, and a Master of Church Music Degree. He is married to Phyllis Capps Criswell and they have one son, Jonathan, age 30. Jim enjoys fishing, singing in the Tennessee Men’s Choral, audio, and spending time with his family. Jim has served churches in Tennessee and Texas. He has served here at First Baptist since 1982.
