Boo was born on April 27, 1970 in Orange County, CA. It was there, at four months old, that she was adopted by her parents, Bob & Fay Nelson. Shortly after, her dad was transferred to Jackson, TN. Boo grew up in Jackson with three older brothers, Mike, Dave & Don. She was a little spoiled with three older brothers helping take care of her! Boo is married to her wonderful husband of 12 years, Mike Sellers. They call "the fastest growing town" Medina, TN their home. They have no children; however, they do have 4 dogs that are like their children! It wasn't until the age of 32 that Boo accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Since that day God has been working in and through her in many areas of her life. She was baptized on September 1, 2002 and became a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. She serves the church as a member of the activities committee, a Sunday school teacher for the high school girls, chairperson for the youth committee, a member of the choir and she attends weekly bible studies for the ladies. Boo is also a volunteer counselor for Birth Choice in Gibson County. One of the most recent changes occurred when Bro. Dale told her about a position that was open for a secretary at First Baptist in Trenton. She and her husband had been praying for God to open the doors where He wanted her to serve. Those doors were opened and she accepted the position with First Baptist and began serving the church on January 31, 2006. She has often been asked about being a member at Chapel Hill and serving First Baptist as church secretary. Her answer has been, "It doesn't matter where you serve as long as you know it is where God has placed you". Besides, we are all the "Church"; it doesn't matter where your name is on the roll. She has truly been blessed and she looks forward to serving First Baptist for years to come. Boo wants to give God all
the praise for everything above and for everything He has brought
her through in her life. She wants to be faithful to Him in
wherever He leads her. Without His love, grace and
mercy she would not be where she is today. He has turned her
completely inside out and started over with her. She is truly
a new
creation: II Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone,
the new has come!" |
